Four Sisters Furniture:
Modern and Antique Woodcraft

A craft that is well known in Pampanga is the craft of wood carving. Once you see the masterpieces that they make it really is the art of wood carving. Apparently one of my aunts has a close friend who owns a wood carving shop situated just on the side of the main highway.
So if you’ve come from Manila you just catch a ride on a jeep, a bus or car and drive on the main highway which is the Jose Abad Santos Ave. So you just have to drive/ride on straight along the highway until you spot the first rows of shops that sell wood carved furnitures on your right side. Then you look for the shop with the sign Four Sisters Furniture Modern and Antique Woodcraft. That is when you’ve come to the right place.

The family of the Aquino’s have been in the business for years and is considered one of the best. They sell a wide range of woodcraft from furniture to statues of saints and even “Carosas” which are platforms where saints of churches are placed to carry them during processions. The proprietress is Ms. Pelegia L. Aquino and is helped by her youngest daughter Ms. Debbie Aquino Soriano. They also accept made to order woodcrafts, repairs, re-varnish and re-upholstery. The handcrafted wooden pieces they produce are of great quality and are sold at a good price. Here you can see Ms. Debbie at work, talking to customers about commission for furniture for their house. We came to know of this place from one of my grandfather's cousins who is a family friend of the Aquino's and has taught all of Mrs. Pelegia's children including Ms. Debbie.

You can also get to see the craftsmen at work creating the woodcrafts before your eyes. Below you can see the different woodcrafts that they have created. Below are pictures of some of their skillfully crafted wood works.

They are not the only furniture and woodcraft store you will see along the highway. On either side of them and from across the street, along the highway it is scattered with different stores for you to choose from. Whenever you have a new home or in the lookout for great hand-crafted wooden furnitures, keep Pampanga in mind for they have some of the best craftsmens in the business and see the quality products that they produce that would suit your tastes.
